Purifying veggies

DSC_0005This is mundane–it’s a little peek into the kitchen to see how I clean veggies! We use a purple pill (potassium permanganate) to chase away all of those bad pesky microbes. I’m not sure quite how it works, but we’ve trusted it for years.

We soak the vegetables for a few minutes and then rinse. There you have it! A daily and necessary occurrence.

The soak also reveals other intruders that we don’t want to munch with our lunch!
