Sixteen years ago in Evanston, IL, the Lord gave us our first son. A robust son who kept us awake at night his first year but after that dazzled us with his sensitivity, his energy, and his orderliness. I’ve been thinking about his early years these past few days–his love for Snoopy, his three-year-old soccer birthday cake, and his infectious laugh. Fast-forward to today, I see his academic ability (while still being a class clown, even in an online class!), his love for basketball, and his zeal to live life fully. We have loved this journey with him and look forward to the years to come.
Two verses that I like to pray for him are “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing.” (Rom. 15:13) and “Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. Let all that you do be done in love.” (1 Cor. 16:13-14) Amen and amen! Love you, Elijah!
